Nikki + Guy | MARRIED

I had the privelege to photograph Nikki and Guy's wedding at Clyde's in Ashburn, VA, with Mike Kelly a few weeks ago. The weather was perfect, the couple was gorgeous, and everybody in attendance had a great time. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day:

For photographers...

I photographed this wedding with my D3s and the following lenses:
 85mm f/1.4G portrait lens
 105mm f/2.8G macro/telephoto lens
 70-200 f/2.8G VRII tele-zoom lens w/TC17E-II 1.7x teleconverter
 14-24mm f/2.8G ultra-wide-angle zoom lens

Due to the outdoor setting and timing, ancilliary lighting wasn't necessary.

Middleton | FAMILY

Feels like it's been a while since I posted, but boy am I excited to get this shoot up on the blog! We had a great time exploring a field close to the Middleton's house during this shoot, and the kids were super-fun to work with!

For photographers: this session was shot with two barebulb flashes in manual mode, triggered by PocketWizard FlexTT5s. There was a bit of cloud-cover, so the front-45 light served as a key light at 1/8-1/4 power, 35mm, back-45 as kicker at 1/8 power, 85mm, and the sun was my ambient light. When we lost cloud cover, I dropped to one light at front-45 for nice contrasty key light, and let the giant ball of fire in the sky be my kicker.
